Shhh...listen to the quiet.

The more I grow up the more my understanding grows of how important moms are in life. It is all too easy to take them for granted, this I know, but today is Mother's Day: a day to thank our moms for doing all those things theyve done for us that they didn't have to do, but did anyway. It's a reminder to take a peek in the mirror and examine how theyve played a part in the character staring back at you. I hope those fortunate enough to still have their moms in their lives take this day as an opportunity to show them how precious they are to them.

When I was younger, I'd wake up and groggily walk down the hall to my moms room and crawl into her bed, stretching the minutes before having to get ready for school. We'd snuggle up under the covers and I can still hear her,"shhh...listen to the quiet" and we'd do just that. The sounds of the birds chirping under the sun and the breeze whispering through the trees was so relaxing.

I loved those quiet moments...something so small and probably silly to others, but special to me. A handful of years later and lazy mornings spent under the covers with my mom is still one of my faves.

now tell me a mommy-memory of yours, id love to hear it:)

go o u t s i d e

Spring is finally here and I couldn’t be more ready to feel the sun on my shoulders. Sam went golfing with the guys, and although it was very nice of him to offer, I declined on tagging along in a golf cart and decided on going out and snapping photos, instead.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, any fun plans?

Just another day at work

I love my job. I babysit two little cuties: a seven month old and a two year old. Though the nine and a half hour shifts definitely take their toll, I have so much fun with these little ones that it doesn't even matter.

Meet Brooke. She is probably thee most laid back baby I have ever encountered. All she demands is a full tummy and enough sleep and this one's good to go.

And this would be Ashley. She's a little fireball, let me tell ya. She's an easy one, too. Her cares in the world include playing with her cars and Play Doh creations.

Today we decided to go on a walk. Ashley loves exploring outside, and I definitely don't mind taking her to do so.

And, of course, no walk would be complete without hunting down the perfect leaf to bring home for Mom.

...or twirling over the crunchy ones, of course.

And can't forget

Ash loves to run, run, run...

Which means I have to keep up.

This does the trick :)

Then Ashley was ready to head for home.

...and so was Brookie.

Today was a good day.
